Asbury Park's Food and Wine Festival a Delicious Success
April 24, 2007 Asbury Park, NJ- On Saturday, April 14, 2007, The Esperanza, this year's City Champion Sponsor, presented the Taste of Asbury Park in Convention Hall. The international food and wine festival featured 15 of the City's top restaurants and 12 local wineries who offered a variety of wines on display for tasting. "Everyone who attended this extraordinary event left with a smile. The restaurants prepared such an enticing assortment of foods that there was something for everyone to enjoy." "Asbury Park is a great place to be a part of and we were very grateful to have so many people come out to show their support and to celebrate 110 years." Tickets to the event were limited to 1,500 and were completely sold out. The restaurants served a wide variety of appetizing choices specially prepared for the event. These delicious culinary specialties were prepared by The Harrison; Moonstruck Restaurant and Cocktail Lounge; Sister Sue's; Carmine's Asbury Park; Aunt Bea's Market; Mattison Park; Bistro Olé; Chat & Nibble; Jake & Lucy's; La Tapatia; Market In The Middle; TAKA; The Brick Wall Tavern; Twisted Tree Café; and the Asbury Park Roastery. Memorabilia from the past and present of Asbury Park including art, photographs, and postcards were on display by local vendors in the Arcade. The air was filled with upbeat jazz tunes performed by the Parreott Ensemble and the Mayor's Players. "Asbury Park is coming back in a big way and this event was the perfect way to show that," Guests were allotted the chance to win prizes at The Esperanza's luxury kiosk by trying the keys that were attached to the complementary Asbury Park beach bags that were handed out to guests. The prizes given to the lucky winners were Esperanza beach towels, bags, and gift certificates to Asbury Park's critically acclaimed restaurants.
